Piper, The Labradoodle.

Piper is a lovely 2yr old Labradoodle. The Labradoodle was designed in the 1970’s specifically for a blind lady in Hawaii because the Labrador breed was not able to be used because she had allergies. So the Labrador was combined with the Standard Poodle to create this beautiful dog.

Piper is a perfect example of the wonderful disposition and kindness that these dogs demonstrate. Out on her morning walk in Broadbeach when i came across her. Such a lovely girl.

Gold Coast

Cheeky Charlie.

What a ratbag and show off this little guy was. 16mth old Charlie is a toy poodle with oodles of character and energy.

He was out on his morning walk when he saw me photographing someone else and made sure he got my attention so he could have his 15 minutes of fame too.

I am sure you will agree that this little guy is quite a character.

Beach

Nala the Bull Terrier

On our recent family vacation to Gold Coast Qld, we were spending some time at Broadbeach when i spotted Nala and her family just a bit up the beach from us and just had to go and photograph her. Yes i carry my camera everywhere LOL.

Santos the very handsome rescued Kelpie X

Santos is a 2yr old rescued Kelpie X who loves a good swim in the morning. He had just come off the beach and was having a rest before heading home on this morning that i captured him. His local beach is Broadbeach Gold Coast Queensland. Lucky puppy has a wonderful part of the world to call home.

I think you will agree he is a handsome boy. He really had a way about him. Very sweet but almost regal.

Gold Coast

Blondie and Bella

These awesome little 7yr old Jack Russells were out on their early morning walk at Broad Beach on the Gold Coast when i came across them. What lucky Pups Blondie and Bella are to live in such a great space to go walking all the time. I have an absolute love of these little terriers. there is a reason Jack Russell dogs are not made any larger, they are full of energy and need lots of exercise.

These guys are a middle aged and obviously love a good walk.

German Shepard

Beautiful Beau.

What a stunning Dog. And constantly on guard and checking things out. Just adorable. This is Beau, a 5yr old Shepard and just adorable. Photographed on the Broad Beach on the Gold Coast going for an early morning walk.

Beaglier

Gigi the Beaglier

A Beaglier is a designer cross of a Beagle and a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel which is what this 20 month old bundle of energy is. Little Miss Gigi is one high energy dog.

I was lucky to catch Gigi in between jumping around and wanting to continue her walk but what a sweetheart dog. And such soft fur. OMG her ears are like velvet.

Gigi has her own Instagram page that you can find her on at :@gigi_the_beaglier

French Bull Dog

Frank the Frenchie

On my recent visit to the Gold Coast i spent some time in the mornings going for a walk along the lovely walking space near our apartment on BroadBeach. Frank the 2yr old French Bull Dog was the first pup I came across and just had to photograph his sweet face. What a cutie.

A man of habit from what his owner tells me. Pretty typical of most blokes I reckon. LOL.

If you are Franks owner and would like a copy of the photographs please email me on hello@walkingthedog.blog so i can arrange them for you.

Beagle

River the Snoop.

River is an 11yr old Beagle who joined her family in June 2017 after retiring from life as a quarantine detector dog. She settled into her new home well once the cats put her in her place. She lives with her 4 humans, (2 adults and 2 kids) and Fiasco, the Kelpie cross who you can read about here.

She loves to walk and play and has the nickname “the Goat” and “Snoops”. I could see why she gets both of these names, she jumps up on things like a mountain goat and is always sniffing and curious about what is going on. probably from her training as a working dog.

River loves any food that is on the kitchen bench and loves her ball and her tug toys. She is very smart and according to her mum, a little to smart for her own good at times, and almost cat like in that she likes to do what she wants to do when she wants to do it.

She has the most beautiful big soft floppy ears.

Here is a bit that here Mum had to say about her.
“River has provided lots of mischief, laughs and head shaking since arriving. she is very cheeky and being a beagle very food oriented. We were heading out in the car one day and my son was sitting in the back seat with a cheese sandwich that he was eating, My husband forgot something from inside the house so got out of the car, leaving his door open. River leapt into the car, grabbed half the sandwich, and bolted back out of the car to eat it. Very naughty but also very funny.”

What a lot of fun River sound like. Certainly would keep you on your toes.

Love this old girl. Fi is just adorable.

Fi (Fiasco) is a 14yr old Kelpie Cross. She was adopted by her family from the RSPCA in 2003. She loves to sleep in the sun and soak in the warmth. She is also known as Fifi Banana and Fifiana.

Her Mum tells me she is the sweetest most gentlest dog ever with the kids coming along and with other dogs and cats. She lives with her human family of 2 adults and 2 kids and a few months ago welcomed her new family member River – the Beagle who you can read about here.

This is a bit more that her mum had to say.
“She is sweet and gentle, never growls and just goes with the flow. The dogs are a big part of our family and we love having them around to entertain, love and guilt us into going for a walk if we get lazy. we do talk to them even if they don’t understand and tell them they are funny naughty cute sill and wonderful. I just love it when she sits with her paws crossed.”

Old dogs are a blessing and this old girl is just adorable.

Today we got started with Molly, what a sweetheart!

Today the weather was finally good enough to get some test shots done but the funniest thing happened. I always see so many dogs passing by my house during the day, the weather was perfect, overcast with no wind. But not a dog or human in sight!! Thankfully one of my neighbours got home from taking Molly to the beach and I was able to use her to get some test shots with the lights and set ups done. The have worked out really well and will make a few tweaks to get it just perfect. Molly will get in front of the camera again sometime soon when she is not so beachy and wet!! We want to make sure she looks her best for her photo shoot next time.

I think you will agree that she is a real sweetheart and makes a great model.

She is a Golden Retriever that just loves exploring the land. She loves jumping into the damn no mater what the weather. She is such a friendly and gentle pup. And we just love having her as part of our extended family.

Silver Award for Jacks at the AIPP South Australian…

Spent Sunday 25th June 2017 as one of the Chairman at the AIPP South Australian Professional Photography Awards. I almost didn’t enter this year, then I found a few images that were getting a bit old and thought that I had better put those in before they became out of date. Shot this one just the other day. The older images only just missed out on awards and were all in the high professional Practice range. This photo of Jacks the 4mth old Greyhound won a silver award in the pet category. It’s always great to win awards.

Best Buddies

I have been a photographer for many years, and for many years I have photographed pets. Lots of my own dogs and dogs of friends, family and clients. I will show case all the work that I have done over the years here on this site, as well as the work that I am currently doing for the “Walking the Dog” photography project.

This image is of my dog Bonnie, with one of her buddies, Stella. Shot on my brothers property where we often get together as a family. This is the view we see of the dogs regularly as we go for walks. This has always been a favorite of mine and thought it fitting to include on this web site. After all this was shot while walking the dogs!!
